Just stop it.

Just stop buying cheap peelers.  I brought a cheap peeler to Uganda. I have gone through many peelers that don't work or last.   If you move overseas where you market shop and process your own vegetables, get this peeler.  Unless you are Ugandan or like my grandmother, who could peel with a pairing knife just as fast.  For me, I was not used to peeling that amount of vegetables.

I accidentally found out this is the Ferrari of peelers.  Last week, I was taking my time peeling 4 pounds of apples for 1 pie (yes, in the USA, where I could buy one, but I was in the mood).  Then, all of a sudden, I looked at the time and friends were coming like, in 20 minutes!  This pie was not for them, so I had to hurry!  I started peeling faster and this peeler was the boss!  If I could have had this in Uganda, it would be like having a whole person working in my house!!!  I first saw this item on a cooking show, but I had no idea what it could do.  You hold it in your hand and peel away from the vegetable, so it gives you great control and is safe to go fast.  I have been using it like I am on a granny Sunday drive and now I know, I could be in a sports car on the autobahn!!  This peeler is fast, efficient and safe.  It doesn't hurt your hand because it is Swiss and they think about these things and make awesome peelers.  Plus, it is a two for one--you can swivel it to another peeler which will julien your veggies.  Just stop buying cheap peelers and get this one.  Maybe get two or three since you spend so much time processing vegetables? You will feel encouraged and helped by your kitchen utensils...

Processing vegetables is a big part of your life in rural places!  This was my haul for the week after I sanitized it.
