Bringing Italy to Uganda

Bringing Italy to Uganda

Yes, you need this book for rural Africa or anywhere you want to have awesome bread products. Whether you would like to control your ingredients, bake slowly or you have a bread need, this is your book.

Now, we acquired this book when we were home for my son's surgery.  I read about this in Cooking Light and I assure you, you don't have to ask me twice to order a bread book.  I mostly used it for the bread stick recipe because it was the quickest thing I could make, which was really significant living in Uganda where we made everything from scratch.

Meanwhile, one day, I was passing through our living room and I noticed my husband, Aaron in the corner reading this book.  I said, "watcha doing?"  He said, "I thought I might try to make some bread."  Then he proceeded to make this beautiful bread.  Which really came in handy.  I could NOT believe he can just sit down and learn to make Italian bread.  That is the gorgeous reality of living in Uganda, quality time and space to learn a difficult task and make something beautiful. Wow.  I confess, I was somewhat jealous and I never did settle down to make all this--you have to not only pay attention and do it over three days, but you have to spray the bread down with water during the baking.  No way, Jose, I will take my breadsticks, thank you.

Our littlest teammate Julia looks on probably with tips for him because she was that smart.
