Yes, you do need this in rural Africa

Yes, you do need this in rural Africa

You also need this in the U.S. if you don't have an ice maker.  It is the best at breaking up ice. We had concrete floors in Uganda and this was the bomb.  It does the job for any crushing AND if you are a meat person and need a tenderizer, two for one.  I am not a meat person yet, but I want to be (I did use it also to flatten chicken which is great when you don't have a butcher and you have to do your own cuts.)  When I lived in Hungary I thought it was like living in the 1950's.  They had non-electronic meat grinders in THEIR HOMES.  They also had canisters and made their own whipped cream and sodas by mixing syrup and fizzy water.... so amazing.  I do see those things in Target, but I am waiting for six years to pass by and my youngest goes to college and I am going to bring my husband and I back to the 1940's when I have time and a brain and space and did I mention silence, which is golden?

But, back to this gadget….. yes, if you are moving to rural Africa, you need this for non electric kitchen work.  I usually buy my stuff at Tuesday Morning, but Amazon has it to.

This was my kitchen in Uganda and awesome concrete floor.
